Turn on 'low power / battery save' modes

Updated over a week ago

Summary

You can turn on Battery Saver from Settings → Battery → Battery Saver (or from Quick Settings), which reduces background activity to extend battery life.

Steps

From Settings (recommended)

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Battery

  3. Tap Battery Saver

  4. Turn Use Battery Saver on

From Quick Settings (faster)

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.

  2. Tap Battery Saver to turn it on

Optional: Turn on automatically

  1. Go to Settings → Battery → Battery Saver

  2. Tap Set a schedule

  3. Choose Based on routine or At a set percentage, then pick your preferred level (e.g., 15%)

Considerations

  • During charging: Battery Saver usually turns off automatically while plugged in

  • Very low battery: The phone may enable Battery Saver automatically even if you turned it off

  • After a reboot: Your chosen schedule remains, but manual on/off may reset

  • No Quick Settings tile visible: You may need to edit Quick Settings to add Battery Saver

  • Some background features may pause: Syncing, location updates, and notifications can be delayed
