Considerations
Carrier restrictions: Some carriers block or limit hotspot/tethering or require an add-on plan.
No cellular data: Hotspot will not work if mobile data is off or there is no signal.
Battery impact: Hotspot drains battery quickly; Battery Saver may reduce performance or disable it.
During calls: Data speeds may drop on certain networks while you’re on a call.
No Quick Settings tile: You may need to edit Quick Settings to add the Hotspot tile.
5 GHz unavailable: Older hardware or certain regions may default to 2.4 GHz only.
When to Contact Support
Create a support ticket if the hotspot cannot be turned on in Settings, is visible but no device can connect, or the carrier error persists after confirming mobile data works.
What to Collect for Support
Carrier name and plan (is hotspot included?)
Whether mobile data works on the Sidephone itself
Hotspot name visible to other devices (yes/no)
Exact error message on the other device (if any)
Whether the Sidephone is in Battery Saver mode
Sidephone OS version or last update
