Sidephone is built on AOSP and does not impose technical restrictions that block the installation of third-party applications, or 'sideloading', as we recognize that essential tools can vary from person to person.
However, sideloading carries inherent risks. Apps obtained outside of trusted, official sources may contain malware, collect your data without your consent, behave unpredictably, or compromise the security and performance of your device.
Before installing any application, ensure it has been obtained legitimately from a trusted source, and avoid pirated, modified, or cracked software, which may violate intellectual property laws and pose significant security risks.
Please note that many apps that depend on Google services (such as certain health, payment, communication, or transportation apps) will not function on Sidephone because the device is de-Googled.
Sidephone cannot guarantee, support, or be held responsible for any issues, damages, data loss, or experiences resulting from the installation or use of third-party applications, as these are outside of our control.
For the safest experience, we recommend using only Sidephone-developed apps or applications from sources you explicitly trust, and exercising caution when enabling installation from unknown sources in your browser settings.
