To complete Sidephone’s Setup Wizard, power on the device and follow the on-screen prompts using the touchscreen to select language, set date and time, connect to Wi-Fi, and finish setup.

Note: Keypad configuration, app installation and SIM card activation is completed after the setup wizard.

Steps

  1. Power on Sidephone by holding the power button for 3 seconds and then releasing the button.

  2. Tap Start on the touchscreen to begin the Setup Wizard.

  3. Select English (United States) as the language.

  4. Tap Next on the SIM card screen.

  5. Set the date and time (manual entry if no SIM is inserted).

  6. Select a Wi-Fi network and enter the password, or scroll down and tap Skip.

  7. Choose whether to add a PIN or password, or skip device protection.

  8. Tap Start to complete the Setup Wizard.

Considerations

  • No button to advance to next step in Setup Wizard: Scroll to the bottom of the page using the touchscreen to reveal a button that may be hidden behind other content on longer steps in the Setup Wizard.

  • Touchscreen required: The Setup Wizard should be completed using the touchscreen; keypads are configured later.

  • Screen turns off during setup: Press the power button once to wake the screen and resume the wizard.

  • Wizard resets: If the device remains idle on a setup screen too long, the wizard will attempt to return to the beginning step in the setup wizard.

  • No SIM inserted: Date and time must be set manually; this does not block setup completion.

  • Unsupported language: Only English (United States) is fully supported; other languages are beta.


When to Contact Support

Create a support ticket if the Setup Wizard cannot be completed after restarting the device and confirming touchscreen responsiveness, or if the wizard continuously resets and prevents reaching the final Start screen.

  • Step of the Setup Wizard where the issue occurs

  • Whether the touchscreen is responsive

  • Whether the wizard restarts unexpectedly

  • Whether a SIM card is inserted

  • Battery level and whether the device is charging

  • Photos or exact text of any on-screen messages
