Organizing applications

Move apps, create folders, and organize your Sidephone’s home screen layout.

Updated over a week ago

Summary

You can organize apps on the home screen by holding them, moving them, grouping them into folders, and removing items you don’t want. All installed apps are revealed by scrolling upwards from the home page, and sorted in alphabetical order.

Steps

  1. From the home screen, press and hold an app icon

  2. Drag the app to your desired position and release

  3. To create a folder, drag one app directly on top of another and release

  4. Tap the new folder to rename it if you want

  5. To move more apps into the folder, drag them onto it

  6. To remove an app from the home screen, press and hold it and drag to Remove (this does not uninstall the app)

  7. To add an app back, open the app list, press and hold the app, then drag it to the home screen

Considerations

  • Removing an app from the home screen does not delete it from the device

  • Some system apps may not be removable from the home screen

  • Folder names may be limited in length depending on screen size

  • If a modular keypad is attached, navigation may feel different but actions are the same

  • Layout changes may reset after a factory reset

When to Contact Support

Create a support ticket if you cannot move, remove, or create folders for any app on the home screen after multiple attempts.

What to Collect for Support

  • Which app you are trying to move or remove

  • Whether the issue happens with all apps or only specific ones

  • Whether you are using a folder or individual icons

  • Whether a keypad module is attached

  • Sidephone OS version or date of last update
